Job Search Workshop

I participate in the job search workshop which is being held in MicroSkills Resource Centre on the 9th floor. The name of the instructor is Nina. This workshop is for full week, Mon. 20 - Fri. 24, starting at 10 a.m. and finishing at 1 p.m.
Today, we learned some tips about how to make a cold call, what we can say and what we can't say when we are calling cold. Nina told us about different job search methods. She taught us how to look for a job, how to apply and how to prepare ourselves for an interview.
Tomorrow, we will review our resumes and cover letters and discuss the highlights of our resume.
In my opinion, such workshops are very useful, especially for newcomers. Because we need to understand the Canadian job market. And this seminar will prepare me for the next career fair, which will take place on September 29th, 2010, in Scarborough.

Career Expo

The first step, if you decide to go to a job fair is, that you need to prepare your resume according to Canadian standard. I recommend taking part in a workshop where the professionals teach you how to write a resume and cover letter. After this you can make an appointment for a resume review in a resource centre, for example in MicroSkills. Before applying, you should make sure that your resume looks "perfect", because the hiring person will focus only for aboud 30 seconds on your resume.

The next career fair will be on Saturday, September 18th, from 10 a.m. till 7 p.m. Location: Direct Energy Centre (Exhibition Place), Hall C, 100 Princes' Blvd., T.O.
Admission: $4.95 (those who register online before Sept. 18  receive free admission).
You can register for the job fair in advance and check the list of exhibitors. Study the job postings on the website http://www.thecitycareerexpo.com/. Learn some key facts about potential employers. This will helps you to show your interest for the company. Be prepared!

Diabetes and Healthy Food

Obesity is one of the biggest problems this century, especially for people with diabetes. 9% to 30% of the adult population in the world suffer from obesity.

Losing weight is a huge challenge to the obese because being fat raises one's sensitivity to insulin. Moreover, obesity brings on other problems, such as painful vague sensations, restricted mobility and, as a consequence, a low self-esteem, depression and emotional stress.
Perhaps no other disease depends to such a degree on diet as the diabetes.
A special diet based on healthy food with almost no sugar is one very important and necessary way to cure diabetes.

Following a diet the diabetes patients will not only have slender figures, but also enjoy a better level of health and self-esteem.

What is your opinion about online shopping?

I  buy online very often. I have never had any problems with this kind of shopping. In my opinion it is very practical especially for somebody as busy as me. On on online web side you can find many different types of goods. The prices are easy to compare and almost always you can get better deals than in the regular shops. I highly recommend it to all of you guys.
